Soirée concerts avec Emeute suivi de Æther Varia
As part of Le Mans Sonore
Emeute (turntables, laptop, field & tapes) followed by Æther Varia (electronic machines)
Emeute (Amandine Casadamont & Olivier Lasson, FR)
Amandine Casadamont & Olivier Lasson will present an improvised creation based on their own field recordings...? Their work lies somewhere between abstraction and sound documentary. Playing with multiple sources recorded in the four corners of the world, mixed with rare vinyls and K7s, collected and selected down to the last comma?
Æther Varia (Nicolas Montgermont, FR)
Æther Varia is a solo piece of electronic music by Nicolas Montgermont that embodies his desire to create generous music based on the principles of experimental music.
The exploration of textures and the use of noise and machine recordings are underpinned by a robust rhythmic structure, accompanied by melodic developments on the borderline between dark techno and industrial music. Æther Varia evokes an emotive and dark atmosphere, suitable for both dancing and listening, which resonates with the contemporary political context.
About the artists :
The Emeute project was born in February 2021 as a result of a meeting between two sound artists and a political context that was blithely flouting some fundamental freedoms.
Nicolas Montgermont is a sound and radio artist whose work explores the physicality and poetics of the airwaves. For more than fifteen years, he has been devising devices and installations based on resonance, vibrations, invisible radio landscapes and interference, while developing research into the links between radio art and politics.
He produces sound performances, installations, records and compositions, alone or in collaboration (chdh, Art of Failure, Cécile Beau, RYBN, Pali Meursault, etc.) and is a member of several sound and radio creation collectives (p-node, Yi King Operators, les Sons Fédérés, Jef Klak, l'Acentrale).
