An unclassifiable artist, Carole Benzaken has explored different pictorial worlds since the Tulips series that made her name in the 1990s.

The exhibition at the Musée de Tessé reveals the many ways in which this artist approaches the passage of time and the question of vanity. Through a selection of works, the tour combines her large formats with her miniatures, and the bright colours of her palette with the intense blacks and whites of her drawings, prints and backlit caissons.
