Winter Family et Marion Cousin & ÉloÏse Decazes
As part of Le Mans Sonore
Winter Family
Ruth Rosenthal: drums, drum machine, vocals
Xavier Klaine: large organs, Philicorda, piano, harmonium
This duo from Jerusalem and Lotharingia, formed by Ruth Rosenthal and Xavier Klaine, is developing a singular universe that alternates synthetic punk blasts and droning orations. The duo have carved out a unique path, defending a radical discourse that is aware of its contradictions through minimal, dark, political and abrasive music, somewhere between enchantment, chaos and melancholy. For Le Mans Sonore, they'll be exploiting all the secrets of the Oratoire chapel for a concert that's as original as it is unique.
Marion Cousin & Éloïse Decazes
Marion Cousin: vocals, synths, guitar, effects, piano
Eloïse Decazes: vocals, synths, bulbul tarang, concertina, slide flute, cassette recorder, piano
Coproduction: Murailles Music, CERC - centre de creacion musicau, GMEA - Centre National de Création Musicale d'Albi, L'Inconnue, Le Périscope.
Marion Cousin and Eloïse Decazes perform vernacular songs from Portugal, using two voices and not exactly traditional instruments. Over the mountains, the duo have found a bouquet of songs of work, celebration or exasperation, sung in a regional idiom, Mirandese. Accompanied by drum machines, synthesizers and guitar keys, they reinvent a heritage in keeping with their free and surprising approach.
