For most people, Corsica is a holiday destination. It's easy to forget that it's a land with a history, with men and women as sanguine as they are generous. The ambition of the group I Cantarini is to raise awareness of the fundamental values of the Corsicans, their way of looking at things, their contradiction, the richness of their hearts, and the beauty of their land.
During this concert, 'I Cantarini' will present the history of Corsican song in just a few songs. Their repertoire will transport you into a Corsican atmosphere, alternating between women's songs, men's songs and group songs, accompanied by typical music featuring guitar, accordion, saxophone, violin and electronic keyboard. Traditional songs are part of Corsica's heritage, but you can also discover a sample of its culture through a varied range of its songs. This culture is based on a long oral tradition that has been enriched over time with new, more modern and rhythmic songs, especially since riacquistu. Riacquistu is the wave of reacquisition of identity culture that has been taking place over the last fifty years or so.

That's why I Cantarini will be covering traditional Corsican themes: war and serenity, polyphony, nostalgia, love and faith, as well as new, more modern, identity-based themes. Each song will be commented on beforehand.
