PI JA MA + Molto Morbidi
Author, singer, illustrator and even ceramist, Pi Ja Ma, aka Pauline de Tarragon, creates a world where luminous songs, gentle impertinence, poetic images and an unconditional love of freedom intertwine. Sensitive and inventive, she embodies a rare way of inhabiting pop.
molto morbidi is an artist who, from her studio-library, cultivates a clever, unclassifiable pop that she calls "weird pop" - bittersweet, melodic, and resolutely off the beaten track. Her universe conjures up everything from baroque 60s pop to electronica, post-punk, synth-pop and trip-hop, with the shadows of Kate Bush, Cate Le Bon, Laurie Anderson and Siouxsie & The Banshees hovering over her without ever settling. This palette is complemented by a singer-songwriter sensibility inherited from folk, underpinned by lyrics in search of authenticity and candour. The result is music that plunges you into an original reverie, somewhere between the familiar and the unexpected. Her second album Maybe Marcel will be released on 27 April 2026 by No Salad Records.
