Fête du Carreau

To pay tribute to the miners, and to all those who have made life worth living, with all its joys and sorrows, on the Bois II tenement site, on Friday 1 May 2026 from 11am to 7pm.

It's a fun-filled day, with picnics, barbecues and a Creole food truck, all set in a warm musical atmosphere. Young and old alike can have fun with the games on offer and enjoy a show by KaléidoAct.

You can also meet the artists by visiting their studios, in particular those of Florent Maussion and Jimmix Parc de Terre Noire. Immerse yourself in local history with the "In the Footsteps of the Iron Miners" site, including a guided tour at 3pm.

The day comes to a close at 5.30pm with a musical reading of "La Mine et les Mineurs", performed by Franck Trillot, accompanied on guitar by Jean-Louis Livenais.
