"De l'Air, De l'Art": Joël Rougié exhibits at the Espace Air Passion Museum

This summer, the Espace Air Passion museum in Marcé is hosting an exhibition of works by Joël Rougié, a painter from Angers with a rich and varied career. This is an exhibition not to be missed by art lovers, who may even have the chance to meet the artist in person.

A painter from Angers, a citizen of the world
Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and then at the Vocreschensky studio, Joël Rougié devoted himself entirely to painting, perfecting his drawing, composition and mastery of materials. There he learned the techniques of oil painting and glazing, in keeping with academic traditions.

His first exhibition took place in Angers when he was only 23. In 1989, he was awarded the prestigious Prix Jean Meunier du Gemmail in Tours, a prize originally created by Jean Cocteau. He went on to take part in the major national exhibitions: the Salon d'Automne in Paris, the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon d'Automne d'Angers, winning numerous awards.
In 1998, his talent crossed frontiers: he was invited by Japan, and his work has since been regularly exhibited in Tokyo, Osaka and Wakayama.
