Assassin

Assassin is a legendary French hip-hop group, founded in Paris in the mid-1980s and led by charismatic frontman Rockin' Squat, a major figure in the French rap movement. A precursor of conscious, free-spirited hip-hop, the group has made a name for itself from the outset with its uncompromising lyrics, committed lyrics and unparalleled artistic freedom.

Assassin was the first French rap group to earn a gold disc in total independence, producing and distributing its music via its own label, Assassin Productions. The group went on to become a major influence on rap culture in France and abroad. With over a million albums sold and a cult following, Assassin has influenced many generations of artists.

In 2026, the group made a major comeback with a new album and tour, in keeping with its militant, creative DNA and exacting artistic standards. The Odyssey continues and nothing can stop it!
