Cycle du cinéma africain

For 3 days, Les Cinéastes cinema will be hosting a series of screenings focusing on African cinema. The screenings will be accompanied by film presentations in partnership with the Africa 72 association and the ASAF association. Programme: La Noire de..., Rafiki, Yeelen, I am not a witch...

This cycle was born out of a desire to bring African cinema, without the colonial gaze, to our cinemas, at Les Cinéastes. The aim is to showcase films by directors of different nationalities and with different themes - all accompanied by film screenings and film exchanges with associations and the public.

Thursday 18 June :

6.30pm: La Noire de... by Ousmane Senbène (Senegal)
Screening followed by a discussion with the Africa 72 association and a reception to open the cycle.
9pm: Rafiki by Wanuri Kahiu (Kenya)
Friday 19 June :

6pm: Waiting for the Swallows, by Karim Moussaoui (Algeria)
Screening followed by a discussion with the ASAF association (Algerian Solidarity Association in France)
Saturday 20 June:

6.30pm: I am not a Witch, by Rungano Nyoni (Zambia)
8.30pm: Yeelen by Souleyman Cissé (Mali)
