Concours d'élégance pendant les Journées du Patrimoine
Bollée car exhibition and Concours d’Élégance in the castle grounds to celebrate our motoring heritage
In Le Mans, Amédée Bollée senior made history as early as 1873 with *L’Obéissante*, a revolutionary steam-powered car regarded as the first family road vehicle. His sons, Amédée the Younger and Léon, carried on this Sarthe heritage by excelling through their own innovations, notably with Léon’s famous petrol-powered ‘Voiturette’ in 1895.
Today, this prestigious name resonates in Le Mans as the symbol of a daring family saga that put the world on wheels. Around fifteen Bollée cars will retrace the entire historical journey linked to this heritage: notably Avenue Bollée in Le Mans.
Bollée Automobiles: a heritage of the Sarthe region
A concours d’élégance on Sunday
Concours d’élégance events date back to the 19th century. Since 2019, the Fédération Française des Véhicules d’Epoque has been reviving this tradition under its own banner. This spectacle combines exceptional restoration work with charm, thanks to a crew dressed in period costume. The Rétromobile Club Juigné 72 will thus pay tribute to the craftsmanship and this timeless motoring heritage.
