Habille-toi, on sort ! - Pourparlers - cie et Alors !
A performance by the Et Alors! theatre company on Wednesday 18 November at 8.00 pm, at the Lion d'Angers.
A Story of a Trial and Friendship
In an hour’s time, the show in which two friends are acting and dancing is due to take place. So they rehearse, again and again, the ideal movement, the perfect sequence. One of them has just received a letter. She has been summoned to serve as a juror in a criminal trial. So that phrase keeps going round and round in her head: will I be able to do it? So they carry on rehearsing. Because time is ticking away and in an hour’s time, the theatre will open its doors. “For about an hour, at least, we know where we’re going, but after that?” ’ They rehearse; ‘bloody hell’, because before going on stage, you say ‘bloody hell’. That’s the tradition. They’d rather say ‘it’ll be fine’ than ‘bloody hell’.
So they rehearse. And it’ll be all right, won’t it? *Pourparlers* is a writing project: the writing of a choreography and the writing of a conversation between two women, two artists bound by friendship. In the flow of words exchanged off the cuff, as if in passing, a path to peace takes shape. Peace with the other, with oneself, and with the world, whose echo moves us deeply.
