De l'ombre à la lumière
The “Culture and Heritage of the Hôtel-Dieu de Coëffort” association organises events (a book fair and concerts) in the magnificent setting of the Church of St Jeanne d’Arc in Coëffort, which is owned by the city of Le Mans.
On 31 October, the ‘Culture and Heritage of the Hôtel-Dieu de Coëffort’ association is presenting a musical performance entitled ‘From Shadow to Light’.
On the eve of All Saints’ Day, the young vocal ensemble Oct’Aria is joined by the actresses and directors Margot Châron and Katarzyna Sanak to sing and recite pieces on the theme of mourning.
When a loved one leaves us, it feels as though they take with them all the light of happier days. Plunged into the thick, suffocating shadow of their absence, we deny, rage against, and even try to negotiate this relentless reality.
Yet this reality must be faced and accepted.
Whilst our loved one wanders the realms of eternal rest, we climb the steps of mourning to, step by step, rediscover the light and return to a life filled with joy.
‘From Shadow to Light’ is a musical invitation to journey along this path, from pain to solace. An invitation to rekindle the gentle flame of memory, for whoever departs never truly leaves.
Hailing from the West of France and the Paris region, the eight singers of Oct’Aria are committed to performing an a cappella repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary, and from secular to sacred.
