What if the Bayeux Tapestry were at the heart of a thriller series worthy of the best streaming platforms? With her flair for storytelling and a certain knack for the unexpected, Gaëlle Bourges presents William the Conqueror’s conquest of England in a series of riveting instalments!

Like a piece of embroidery, the scene unfolds against the backdrop of France and England, with key moments to be savoured as a nod to a history
that is never truly complete.
We’re waiting for the Netflix series that will bring this epic to life, but in the meantime, here’s *Guillaume & Harold*, a show in episodic form that
immerses viewers in this tale of a long-running invasion that ends well then badly, or badly then well. It all depends on the perspective
(English or French) and the time frame (short or long) one adopts: one could trace the fluctuating relations between the English
and the French right up to… Brexit!
In any case, the piece allows us to discover a series of key moments from the work – or from William’s conquest of England – in order to
gauge the ambiguity of the narrative conveyed by the embroidered images: the embroidery does not tell the whole story, and history is complex, as always.
The choreographer presents us, not without a touch of mischief, with a multitude of settings, characters and plot twists through nothing more than the dance of two bodies, some props, a narrative and a song.
