Hamlet en 30 minutes - Cie Bruitquicourt - les Escales du Cargo
Performance in Saint-Sauveur-de-Flée (as part of the Cargo programme), Sunday 23 May 2027 at 3.00 pm.
You gave them a standing ovation at last season’s opening at the Cargo, so we’re inviting them back – this time in a street performance!
(And it’s still absolutely hilarious).
A madcap project from the Bruitquicourt theatre company: performing Hamlet in 30 minutes.
Well, it’s all over the top. In terms of timing, style and acting, it’s over the top in every way.
But it’s so spot on and so faithful to the original that this zany take on the ill-fated Danish king has now become a classic in its own right.
In this show – a literary sprint brimming with unusual twists – the Bruitquicourt theatre company chooses to have a bit of fun with William Shakespeare’s monumental work,
guided by one key word: derision – whilst preserving the essence of the play with genuine snippets of Shakespeare woven throughout. Four actors (three Hamlets and one narrator) join forces to reinvent theatre by transforming this tragedy into an unconventional comedy.
This show, which has been a staple of the repertoire since 2008, has been a highlight of the Avignon Festival, all the major street theatre festivals, and even on the international stage! Whether performed on the street or in a theatre, Hamlet is always a huge hit with audiences. In short, Hamlet is 70 minutes of joy and laughter!
