Exposition « Matière grise »
Discover the exhibition at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal and the Encore Heureux agency, which explores the reuse of materials in construction. It showcases approaches that sort, recover and recycle existing materials, transforming waste into resources and catalysts for projects.
Using ‘more brainpower’ to consume fewer ‘raw materials’.
This exhibition, created by the Pavillon de l’Arsenal and the architects at Encore Heureux, is a call to reflect together on the life cycle of materials in the construction sector. Through the lens of re-use, they invite us to discover approaches that sort, recover and recycle the materials found on-site, so that we may view these resources not as waste but as catalysts for projects.
‘Matière grise’ frames the act of building as a contemporary issue with the potential to shape the future of architecture, places the architect back at the centre of the material cycle, and engages all sectors of the construction industry: engineers, technical inspectors, manufacturers, insurers, construction firms, and private and public project owners.
What if building were first and foremost about reusing existing materials by giving them a new lease of life?
