Don Quichotte

DON QUIXOTE and Sancho Panza, based on the work by Miguel Cervantes – by the Compagnie du Tiroir

“Don Quixote” is a tribute to the joy of reading, an ode to daydreaming, to utopia and, above all, to the immense power of the imagination.

Whether we are young or grown-up, reading Don Quixote reveals just how much our follies and hopes give us the strength to carry on living and make each of us heroes, however ridiculous we may seem. Don Quixote believes in his dreams even if others do not. For him, his failures are trials that strengthen him against malevolent sorcerers.

The Théâtre du Tiroir has chosen to adapt the most famous Spanish novel – a giant of world literature – which, in 1605, ushered in the era of the modern novel, leaving the medieval novel behind.
