22 MINUTES
"22 MINUTES" written and performed by Benoit Solès
The Théâtre L'Acthalia presents “22 MINUTES”, written and performed by Benoit Solès.
What was said during the 22 minutes that brought together John Paul II and Ali Agca, the man who attempted to assassinate him? On 13 May 1981, a young man shot the Pope. Two years later, the Pope visited him in prison. In an intense one-man show, Benoit Solès lends his voice to Ali Agca. From his childhood to his thirty years in prison, he draws us into the heart of a life turned upside down. Ali recounts to the audience this historic face-to-face encounter, the details of which remain unknown to everyone…
An exchange imagined as a moment suspended in time, where faith, violence and forgiveness clash.
Following the triumph of *La machine de Turing* (4 Molière Awards in 2019), a gripping production that explores what, within each of us, can be turned on its head.
