Journées Européennes du Patrimoine - Fours à chaux de la Veurière
European Heritage Days events at the Veurière lime kilns on Sunday 20 September 2026.
A tour of the Sainte-Anne kilns, which bear witness to the industrial past of the ‘Anjou Bleu’ region and are listed as Historic Monuments. Guided tour led by the owner of the site and its outbuildings, including the steward’s house and the limestone-marble quarry. A video will be shown partway through the tour, showcasing a contemporary artisanal lime-burning operation.
Opportunity for a self-guided tour of Saint-Joseph Chapel, currently undergoing restoration, and the Saint-Pierre kilns, 800 metres away, via a footpath running alongside the three former quarries, which are now flooded.
Tours depart at: 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm
