Cheffes sur Art

For its fourth edition, the municipality of Cheffes is organising an art walk entitled ‘Cheffes sur Art’’, during which the village is transformed into a vibrant and surprising open-air gallery.

A self-guided art walk through the village from 10.00 to 19.00.

Across numerous exhibition venues scattered throughout the village, artists will display their works in Cheffes’ gardens and homes, as well as at the Notre Dame des Eaux Chapel, in certain municipal premises, school playgrounds and along the banks of the River Sarthe… all of which are everyday settings transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, taken over by 56 artists whose creative worlds are as rich as they are varied. A wide range of artistic disciplines are represented: painting, sculpture, ceramics, illustration, photography, illumination, the creation of art objects, fashion and arts and crafts… the disciplines on display showcase a wonderful diversity of styles and craftsmanship.

Throughout the day, a host of activities await you: artistic demonstrations, creative workshops, and a large collaborative mural in the courtyard of the Camille Fasilleau school, in which young and old alike can take part.

What makes Cheffes sur Art’ so magical is, above all, the chance to meet people. The artists will be present alongside their works and are delighted to share their creative process, sources of inspiration and techniques. A rare opportunity to understand what lies behind a creation and perhaps leave with a new favourite piece.
