4211 km - Cie Nouveau Jour
The author and director Aïla Navidi draws us into the story of the Farhadi family, set between Tehran and Paris. An intimate and well-researched tale that captivates and moves the reader.
4,211 km: that is the distance Mina and Fereydoun travelled in the early 1980s to escape the Islamic Republic and seek refuge in France. Today, their daughter Yalda, born in Paris, recounts their exile, their struggle for freedom, their love for the country they left behind and their hope for a return that is impossible. She is desperately searching for her place between these two worlds. A double winner at the 2024 Molière Awards, the play blends different eras and takes us on a journey from one capital to another thanks to its adaptable set design. Performed by five actors of great sensitivity, this story of passing on a legacy explores themes of identity, uprooting and emancipation. A sensitive and vibrant epic.
