Booking

As part of the Le Mans Sonore 2026 biennial event, the cathedral bells will be ringing out melodies between Saturday 17 January and Saturday 24 January. Over the course of the days, popular and religious tunes will be played on the six bells cast by Ernest and Amédée Bollée in 1859. You'll be able to hear melodies such as Ode à la Joie, Symphonie du Nouveau Monde, Ave Maria, Frère Jacques and many more. These melodies will be programmed to be played one minute before the hour. For the occasion, the hours will be rung on the cathedral's seventh bell, dating from the 15th century. This bell, which is currently mute, used to mark the hours in the heart of the Plantagenet City. It will once again be possible to hear it ring out the hours between 8am and 8pm.

We suggest you come and listen to the melodies in Place Saint-Michel, opposite the cathedral bell tower. Tunes will be played on the mornings of Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 January at the Place des Jacobins market.
