"De l'Air, De l'Art" - Joël Rougié exhibits this summer at the Espace Air Passion Museum in Marcé

This summer, the Espace Air Passion museum in Marcé is opening its doors to painting and welcoming the works of Joël Rougié, an artist from Angers with a rich and varied career. A summer exhibition not to be missed, offering an unexpected and poetic dialogue between pictorial art and the world of aviation.

Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and then at the Vocreschensky studio, Joël Rougié devoted himself entirely to painting, perfecting his drawing, composition and mastery of materials. There he learned the techniques of oil painting and glazing, in keeping with the great academic traditions. From his first exhibition in Angers, aged just 23, he established himself as a singular voice. In 1989, he won the prestigious Prix Jean Meunier du Gemmail in Tours, an award originally created by Jean Cocteau, before going on to make a name for himself at major national exhibitions.
In 1998, his reputation spread beyond France's borders, as Japan invited him to exhibit his work regularly in Tokyo, Osaka and Wakayama, making him a true ambassador for French painting on the international stage.
