Joséphine Baker, 50e anniversaire - Comédie Musicale
Combining dance, song and theatre, *Joséphine Baker: 50th Anniversary* traces the remarkable and unique journey of a free-spirited and socially committed artist.
Born in a black ghetto in Missouri and married at the age of 13, the young Joséphine arrived in France and became an icon of Parisian high society during the Roaring Twenties. A stage performer, Resistance fighter and activist, she forged an extraordinary destiny, marked by struggles and memorable encounters: from Gabin to Martin Luther King Jr, not to mention her ‘rainbow tribe’ of 12 children. On stage, eight performers bring this multifaceted woman to life through choreographed scenes featuring flamboyant costumes. The talented Fanny Chelim embodies Joséphine Baker in all her complexity, balancing strength and fragility. A vibrant show that celebrates a major figure of the 20th century!
