European Heritage Days events at the Maison de la Rivière in Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe, on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026.

An exhibition and discovery centre retracing the special history of inland waterway transport and the activities that took place on the rivers of the Maine basin, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
On-site attractions include a collection of artefacts, a number of reconstructions, and a 12-metre model illustrating the various developments on the Oudon, Mayenne, Sarthe and Loir rivers, from causeways and mills to sea gates and sluice gates.

Saturday and Sunday - continuous guided tours from 3pm to 6pm
