European Heritage Days in Cornillé-les-Caves: visit La Masselière Manor House

What if a house could tell the story of four centuries of life, heritage and a deep connection to the land?
In Cornillé-les-Caves, the La Masselière manor house opens the doors to an estate where heritage and agriculture have always gone hand in hand. Listed as a historic monument, this elegant neoclassical residence, which celebrated its bicentenary in 2022, has been home to the same family for over four centuries. During the guided tour, the stonework, outbuildings and landscapes take on a whole new dimension thanks to the stories told by those who maintain this place with such passion.

The tour continues to the Gagnerie organic farm, formerly owned by Perray-Neuf Abbey. Amidst the ruins of an old chapel, the farm buildings and the produce made on site, this exploration reveals the close links between history, traditional skills and rural life.

Practical information: Free guided tours of La Masselière, Saturdays from 2 pm to 6 pm and Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm. Walk to La Gagnerie farm with the option to order farm produce.
