Discover the grounds of this manor house on the banks of the Loir in Durtal

The house appears to have been built in the early 17th century; it was altered in the 18th century by the addition of windows and dormer windows to provide better lighting, and by the installation of décor in the style of the time, particularly in the drawing room. The rest of the house, which is very austere, remained virtually unchanged in the 19th century.

The manor house is situated north-west of Durtal, at the start of the Loir Valley tourist route heading towards Huillé. Only the grounds are open to the public.

The owners of the Manoir de Serrain are opening their garden to the public throughout the weekend. Discover this garden, divided into two sections framing a vast lawn. One section slopes down as a path lined with roses, peonies, irises and agapanthus, leading down to the nearby River Loir, whilst the other offers a series of harmonious, interconnected areas.
