Since 1800, the town of Segré has been recognised as the seat of one of the sub-prefectures of Maine-et-Loire. Thanks to this impetus, the town was to experience tremendous economic and demographic growth over the following decades. A stroll through Segré’s town centre will take you to the sub-prefecture. There, you will receive a very warm welcome from Ms Djamila Medjahed, the sub-prefect of Segré.
