Lorraine de Sagazan confronts the enduring subject of love with the times. Do we love today as we did 20 years ago? And a hundred years ago? What do we know about youth? And what can theatre do about the pain of relationships?
For their latest production, director Lorraine de Sagazan and playwright Guillaume Poix have teamed up with eight up-and-coming actors from the Talents Adami Théâtre programme. All are in their early twenties. They were all selected from some 1,800 applications. They have all participated in the development of this play about passion in love: its history, its idealisation, its current manifestations and its alternatives. It's a way of discovering and questioning how this new generation invents and conceives its relationship with desire, with others, with conjugality and with freedom. After Léviathan, Un sacre and La Vie invisible, the artistic duo are continuing their work, which combines meetings and interviews, improvisation and writing for the stage. Their cathartic, utopian theatre, on the edge of performance and the visual arts, aims to respond to our expectations frustrated by everyday life, norms and institutions.
