Put on your trainers and head to the Ferme Aquacole d’Anjou in Morannes!

What if your next outing took you straight behind the scenes at an aquaculture farm? Put on your trainers – the adventure begins on the banks of the Sarthe.

Head to the Ferme Aquacole d’Anjou, one of the few farms to combine fish farming in ponds with aquaponics. The walk starts on the banks of the Sarthe, in the heart of a former boatmen’s village, for a total of 8 km (there and back) through unspoilt countryside.

On arrival, set down your rucksack by the ponds for a picnic, before taking a behind-the-scenes tour of the farm: explore the fish farming facilities, the aquaponic vegetable ponds, and, the icing on the cake, a tasting of carp rillettes straight from the farm!

Bring your own picnic and wear weather-appropriate clothing – 8 km hike in total (return)
