For the 3rd year running, La Mine Bleue is offering a summer programme to give you a different insight into the life of miners.
In July and August 2026, the Compagnie Argilis, in a Label Prod' production, will be taking over the Mine bleue to offer an immersive theatrical experience 126 metres underground.

Four actors will bring the Saint Blaise slate quarries back to life over the course of an evening through a tour combining history and intrigue. And, of course, there will be a sing-along with a gourmet meal 126m underground. By the light of lanterns, you'll spend around 2? hours exploring the Saint Blaise slate quarries in Anjou, alongside Camille, Claude, Lucien and Ernest.

"July 1926, eight years since the end of the war. Some had returned, others had not. Slate production was strangely insufficient and business was going badly. Today is Camille's first day in the mine. He doesn't seem very familiar with the operation and asks a lot of questions. What happened last year when an accident claimed the life of a miner? How do you explain the cash flow problems when the output is steady? Is the manager stealing from the till?

Let yourself be captivated by the ambience and beauty of this place shaped by the hand of man, where the rock is omnipresent. Your journey through the galleries and extraction chambers is a total immersion in the very special atmosphere of the underground world.
After a snack from your bag, you'll finish this journey to the heart of slate and the daily life of the miners, keeping in mind the images and testimonies of the history of slate mining.
