Pling Klang - Marans

Le Cargo exports to Marans: performance of the show Pling Klang at the Salle de la Belle Angerie on Friday and Saturday 19 and 20 May 2026 at 7pm. From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 March 2025 at Le Cargo in Segré.

The title of this show says nothing other than that it's in the register of the crazy, and the two singular entities in the contemporary circus landscape that are its creators have chosen to link up through an object that is not recognised as a piece of apparatus but which they use as such: a piece of furniture in kit form from the famous Swedish brand.

"This project centres on a word, a notion, for which each person has their own definition: The Couple.
So we asked ourselves how we could approach this social invention that is the couple through and for a show.
And it was while we were thinking about the different challenges that couples face that one of them caught our attention: assembling a piece of IKEA furniture.
This will be the focus of our show. An absurd, intimate and playful challenge. Étienne Manceau and Mathieu Despoisse

Does it fit in with the circus? In any case, there's a notion of object manipulation in the show, but it's an imposing object that's carried: that brings a certain physicality. For the two friends, the object is both the backbone of their piece and a metaphor for the subject they are tackling head-on: the couple.
