Portes Ouvertes à la Ferme Aquacole d'Anjou à Morannes
Fancy an original outing in the heart of nature? Push open the doors of the Ferme aquacole d'Anjou and let yourself be surprised by a fascinating world where water, fish and plants live in perfect harmony.
For over 30 years, this unique farm has been bringing to life recognised expertise in aquaculture and pond fish farming. Around fifteen species of fish are reared on 25 hectares of water, ranging from ornamental fish to species destined for restocking rivers and ponds. Here, nature takes its course, between natural reproduction in ponds and mastered techniques in hatcheries.
But the visit doesn't stop there! Enter the pilot greenhouse and discover aquaponics, an innovative and ecological method that combines fish farming and vegetable growing. It's a truly autonomous little ecosystem, as astonishing as it is inspiring, that will appeal to young and old alike.
The highlight of the tour is the "Géraldine" aquaponic vegetable garden, designed and built on site. A fine illustration of local ingenuity and sustainable solutions for the future.
Let yourself be surprised by a visit that combines local know-how with ideas for the future.
