The Segré media library is hosting a meeting with two comic book writers, Pat Perna and Simon Rochepeau, on Tuesday 17 March 2026 at 8pm, hosted by the Angevine bookshop Le Repaire des héros.

Through their careers and their works, the two authors will share their views on the world and the contemporary issues affecting the ninth art form.

Pat Perna first turned to drawing as a self-taught artist, working as an illustrator in an advertising agency. At the same time, he discovered the world of journalism. His ever-present passion for comic strips led him to success with the Joe Bar Team series, which he partly scripted. He then left journalism to devote himself fully to comics. Since then, he has collaborated with a number of different authors and has become involved in realistic comics. In 2024, he published L'Affaire Grégory, drawn by Christophe Gaultier, published by Arènes BD.

Simon Rochepeau's work focuses on extraordinary destinies that resonate with current events and major social issues. His work includes the Ukrainian feminist activist Inna Chevtchenko (First name: Inna, drawings by Thomas Azuélos) and Ali Arkady, a photojournalist sent to cover the Iraq conflict (L'homme qui en a trop vu, drawings by Isaac Wens), both published by Futuropolis.
