As part of her third residency in Mayenne, the artist Lou Motin is taking over a room in the museum for the duration of a weekend to present the first stage of her work in progress.

As part of her third residency in Mayenne, the artist Lou Motin will take over a room in the museum for the duration of a weekend to present the first stage of her work in progress.

The space will be transformed into an archaeologist’s workshop, evoking a fictional excavation where objects, fragments and clues from an imaginary future intermingle. Part research centre, part cabinet of curiosities, this immersive installation reveals the artist’s initial lines of inquiry into the memory of traces, our contemporary creations and their possible futures.

This presentation serves as a preparatory stage for her solo exhibition scheduled to take place at the museum in 2027, and invites the public to step into her world today.
