The selected Émergences :
Maquette A: Paraplate, Le Duo 1m², by CNAC graduates Cassandre Shopfer and Nina Sugnaux
→ Tue. 10 Feb. and Thu. 12 Feb. at 7pm
Two artists explore a new piece of apparatus: a wooden platform pulled by two intertwined ropes, floating two metres above the ground. This precarious space invites us to reflect on the notion of limits and freedom. How do you share an already limited space with others? How do you find your place and your own freedom despite the constraints?
This creation highlights the importance of living together, learning from each other and experiencing our contradictions, creating an interdependence that despite our points of tension can lead to a vital symbiosis. In this miniature universe, where there seems to be no way out, resilience becomes essential.
The platform, or paraplate, is a piece of apparatus invented by Nina Sugnaux during her studies at the CNAC.
Maquette B: Don Baltha, Cie L'Art Nak, by Christian Padilla Angulo, a graduate of the Académie Fratellini
→ Tue. 10 Feb. and Wed. 11 Feb. at 7pm
At the age of three, Christian Padilla was dressed up for the first time as Balthazar, "the black magician king"... Although he would have liked to dress up as a cow, his rebellious skin and hair assigned him to the role of Balthazar. Then, as if in a loop, every Christmas, as the only black child in his Catholic school in Ecuador, he had to play this character in the living nativity scene. Over the years, this condition has become a powerful force that has motivated him to confront inequality and celebrate diversity.
Don Baltha is a surreal Afro circus solo combining juggling, dance and acrobatics. In this autobiographical story, Christian questions discrimination and the dehumanisation of bodies and individuals.
Maquette C: Ainsi rugissent les fleurs, Cirque Lambda, by Kinane Srirou, Jessica Ramon, Flavia Savi graduates of Ésacto'Lido and Laia Planell Viladrich
→ Wed. 11 Feb. and Thu. 12 Feb. at 7pm
Four acrobats around a Chinese pole celebrate the collaboration of four beings, each living with their demons, strengths and weaknesses, each supporting the others... in their own way.
Ainsi rugissent les fleurs evokes themes linked to social injunctions and labels, through a prism that these artists know well: being a woman. Together, they want to free our memories, to emancipate ourselves from them, to create new memories.
