YaMaKaDo, 40 ans de Design
Open the doors of a place steeped in history and discover 40 years of Yamakado design and creation.
As part of the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art, don't miss this unique event that will appeal to locals and visitors alike. In a thousand-year-old chapel on the banks of the Loir, in Durtal, discover the unique world of Yamakado and let yourself be carried away by 40 years of creation and expertise.
Founded in 1986 by cabinet-makers and designers Agnès and Hiroyuki Yamakado, the company has created over 250 pieces of furniture, combining aesthetics, innovation and mastery of materials. Some of these pieces have become emblematic, and are sold in France and abroad. Throughout the exhibition, admire furniture, prototypes and original creations, including the Yam armchair, presented again for the first time since 1985, a rare opportunity not to be missed.
Wood, metal, glass, slate or wool... each piece reveals exceptional craftsmanship.
Agnès Yamakado will be giving a series of talks to take you behind the scenes of her craft, from design to marketing:
- Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April at 4pm and 6pm (duration: 30 min)
A great idea for a cultural outing, whether on your own, with family or friends.
